What is exactly the meaning of modifiable /unmodifiable in collections

Collections which do not support any type of modification operators such as add ,remove,clear are called as unmodifiable Collections while the non unmodifiable collections are called modifiable collections

Collections that guarantee that no change in the Collection object will ever be visible is refered as immutable while the other is mutable
