Can anybody tell me what is the role of Configuratin Manager?

His one orle is maintaining the build versions.

Configuration Manager is responsible for implementing the configuration control procedures in the project. The CM shall 1)Plan, monitor and report on all configuration management aspects of the project

Ÿ2)Prepare the Configuration Management Plan
Ÿ3)Create the Configuration management structure and identification scheme
Ÿ4)Identify Configuration items/baselines
Ÿ5)Control the movement of CI (Configurable Items)
Ÿ6)Monitor the status of CIs within a baseline
Ÿ7)Ensure that Change Management is being followed
Ÿ8)Ensure the backup, security and archival of CI
Ÿ9)Ensure backup can be restored
Ÿ10)Report the status of CIs, whenever required
