Parameterisation is nothing but give the number of input values to Business process. for ex.  we recorded one log in page, that page contain only one user name and pasword. But we want to run the script with multiple values, then we will use the method called parameterization.

In the script select the username value and right click--> select Parameterisation--> Enter Parameter name--> enter valid usernames

Do the same for passwords. Now run the script with multilple values.

After parameterizing the script in Load Generator, if we run the same script using Load Controller how can we make the virtual users to understand the parameterized data?Because I am facing the same problem, after running the parameterized script using Load Controller if I read the server log it is displaying a single user name and password (username and password recorded).How can I read all the users that are parameterized?

Hi Sawstha,

After patameterising a value, you need to select the necessary fields for a particular parameter. if you click on parameter list button in VuGen, you can see options for a parameter.
at the bottom you can find selct column. there are two options for the same

1. By number
2. By name

Select By name and specify the Parameter. you will be able to get it.

There are various types of parameterisation in LoadRunner. They are
1. Date
2. Random Number
3. Unique Number
4. File

There are few more, but i remember only those above
