The df-k command to display the amount of disk space used for file system in Kbytes format. It fetches the information from /etc/mnttab.

This command does not work on a partition without a file system, but does work on a partition with an unmounted file system.

First of all we have to create the file that is /etc/opasswd file that is duplicate of /etc/passwd file, whenever the /etc/passwd file is corrupted we can use the /etc/opasswd file and copy the contents of /etc/opasswd to /etc/passwd and we can use it.
