Its depends upon the value of session.timeout ()
by default it is 20 mins.

Session of an asp page expires when it reaches the time out set in the web config or the idle time out in IIS whichever comes first. Default is 20 minutes if I am not wrong

You encrypt connection string string by using aspnet_regiis.exe like so:
aspnet_regiis.ex -pe "connection string" -app "MyWebApp"

To decrypt you only need to change the option -pe to -pd.
