Here || operator is used, which returns 1  when first operand is not zero, without evaluating second operand, so it returns 1 because the address of main function is not zero.

Unfortunately, the only way to search a linked list is with a linear search, because the only way a linked list’s members can be accessed is sequentially. Sometimes it is quicker to take the data from a linked list and store it in a different data structure so that searches can be more efficient.

i assume that the string is in an array...you can compare the individual value with the range of ascii values and then decide if it is a space or a letter or a number.
