There are a total of 150 weights. Let the number of 1 Kg weights be 'x'. Then the number of 2 Kg weights is '150 - x'. The sum of the weights is 260 Kg. ie [x * 1 + (150 - x) * 2] = 260. By solving this you will get 'x' as 40.

we have,
a1+b+c+......+j=a2+b+4+c+4+d+4+.....+j+4
=> a1+b+c+....+j=a2+b+c+..+j+36

Therefore, no. of mice killed by each cat = 999919/x (since, they killed equal no. of mice)
Now, given that
(999919/x) is greater than x, i.e
999919/x > x, implies x*x<999919
Therefore, x < 999.95(approx). Now, the only no. which is nearest to but less than 999.95 and is a factor of 999919 is 991.

The formula is p(a union b)=p(a)+p(b)-p(a intersect b)
so, according to our problem p(a union b )=40 p(a)=30; p(b)=20;

n(e and t)=n - neither who speak English nor Telugu=150-30=>120.
n(e and t)=n(e)+n(t)-n(e or t)
120=55+85-n(e or t)
n(e or t)=20.

ans is 60 benches
let x=no of benches
y=no of students per bench
given
x*y=600,---------(1)
and given that 10 benches are less hence 2 students are seated more than per bench then
600=(x-10)*(y+2)
600=xy+2x-10y-20------------(2)
since xy=600
then eq(2) is
2x-10y=20
2x-10(600/x)=20
on solving
we get x=60prititripathi

Hi,
I came up with another thought...
the numbers are 8,2,14,6,11,?,14,6,18,12
Now add the 1st number and the last number .. it is 20.
not add the 2nd number which is 2 and the last but one number which is 18 ... it is 20..
So if you keep adding these all the sum equals to 20. So the number next to 11 should be 9. Any thoughts :-)Sravani
