Customer dimension is a good example. Customer address and Phone number frequently changes. So you will update the customer dimension for these changes.Hence its called as SCD. There are several types though. This example is type1 SCD.

I feel that Dirty Dimension is nothing but Junk Dimensions. Core Dimensions are dedicated for a fact table or Datamart. Conformed Dimensions are used across fact tables or Datamarts. Sorry i never heard of Balanced Dimensions.Could some one explain what is Balanced Dimension?Regards,Ravi Kumar Garre

Bteqexport is used if the number of rows is less than half a million. since it sends the data row by row.
fast export is used if the number of rows in more than half a million, it send data in 64kb blocks.so efficient in handling large amount of data
