Yes same as store procedure and one advantage of packages is it has overriding facility for this first we create package and store it in database before running the mapping

Hi,what kind of packages ? are you talking about Oracle PL/SQL packages, the answer is yes. In fact, you can use Stored Procedures, Stored functions. And in the same way, you can use Packages.

Yes you can. Start ---L1-------> S1 --------L2-------> S2suppose S1 fails and we still want to run S2, then L2 condition --> $S1.status = FAILED or $S1.status = SUCCEEDED

After draging the ports of three sources(sql server,oracle,informix) to a single source qualifier, can u map these three ports directly to target?
NO.Unless and until u join those three ports in source qualifier u cannot map them directly.

Sources from heterogenous databases cannot be pulled into a single source qualifier. They can only be joined using a joiner. And then can be written to the target

I don't think dragging three heterogeneous sources in a single source qualifier is valid. Whenever we drag multiple sources in same source qualifier, 1. There must be a joining key between the tab...

I dont think above written statement is correctMyunderstanding is that for source based commit: a session as soon as it reads 10k rows from the source it performs a commitand similarly for tbc: as soon as it write 10k rows to targt it does a commit

I have worked with Informatica 7.1 but haven't used versioning.Informatica 8 is surely bundled with versioning systemAlso adding headers in a text target file is also possible in Info-8 without specifying the same while installation (which is wat you do for informatica 7)

You would use Normal Loading when the target table is indexed and you would use bulk loading when the target table is not indexed. Running Bulk Load in an indexed table will cause the session to fail.

Normal Load: It loads the records one by one, Server writes log file for each record, So it takes more time to load the data.Bulk load : It loads the number of records at a time, it does not write any log files or tracing levels, so it takes less time.
