How to import .xls format file using informatica

How to import a .xls as source into informatica.
I want to import the data from two columns of a .xls sheet.

Hi,

first save .xls as csv and you can use flat file as source for that .csv. you can specifically select only those columns which you require.

Hi there!

Just want to add some...  you can use content master and tgp to convert the xls file to xml file. then you can use UDO transformation, XML Parser transformation.  Basically the objective here is to convert the XLS file to XML.

1. Go to excel you wnat to inport and select the area where the data is present.
2. Go to insert,name,define and define the area
3. Create ODBC for excel file.
4. Using the created ODBC select the to exact path and select the excel file
5. To import just do an import from database.
6. Use dsn name created and selected the excel workbook
