Why is distribution steel provided only in one way slab and not in two way slab?

The main function of distribution steel to bind and main steel and to prevent the shear in main steel.In two way slab there is no need for distribution bcz the main bars also acts as shear reduction agents.

Hi Srinivasan,
Its difficult to answer this question. Because steel quantity calculation depends upon forces acting on the tunnel. Once you arrived calculating horizontal and vertical forces then it will be same as like steel quantity calculation like a beam or slab or footing.

I bilieve, 1 sample mean 3 cubes, hence for 1-5 Cum. we have to cast 3 cubes, 6-15 Cum. 6 cubes to be casted and so on.
