How can I switch from Device Driver Engineer to Software field?

I am an E&TC engineer working as device driver engineer in small firm in Nasik. Looking for better opportunity but after searching a lot I came to know that there are few openings in core industry… job opportunity for this embedded filed is less in Maharashtra. so I am thinking to switch to the software field. How can I change to IT so that my previous experience is also used.

I don't know much about device drive engineering. Coming to software, what you wanted to become either developer or testing professional. As you are from Maharashtra there are much more chances for software professionals. If you want to build your career as developer then learn programming languages. If you want to build your career in testing then learn testing tools.
