In an ERP System, All the sub-ledger entries like AR, AP, Inventory, Payroll etc has to flow to General Ledger as an control Account. All the sub-ledger entries used to flow to GL using a scheduled automatic program like "Transfer entry to GL" that will fetch all entries to GL. It can be done manually too. Other wise Sub-ledger and GL balances never match. If there is any issue with the entry in sub-ledger, it will park in the interface which we need to check and release.
