Polarity may refer to:
In science:
Polarity (mutual inductance)
Polarity (physics), a physical alignment of atoms
Cell polarity, differences in the shape, structure, and function of cells
Chemical polarity, a concept in chemistry which describes how equally bonding electrons are shared between atoms
Electrical polarity

Electrical polarity (positive and negative) is present in every electrical circuit. Electrons flow from the negative pole to the positive pole. In a direct current (DC) circuit, one pole is always negative, the other pole is always positive and the electrons flow in one direction only. In an alternating current (AC) circuit the two poles alternate between negative and positive and the direction of the electron flow reverses.

Polarization is a complex subject? But is easiest understood to me a position, location, direction, depth and etc. from a center point of refrence it is easiest understood by ceating a sphere around then plotting its phase, frequency and velocity but gets further complicated when you change the division or fractioin of 60 seconds radian to something other then 60 seconds. So to add to what other said polarity is not limited to positive and negative because if you apply +4 volts and +5 volts to a capacitor you will have +1 volt potential across the capicitor and currents will have if measured across time the same and different directions with respect to time. If load changes at any point in a direct current then the currents wave form changes therefor what is commonly taught about DC is a lie and could be measured similar to how slew rate is measured to prove that.
