DTM is Data Transformation Manager.  

Integration Services are used to move data from source to target based on workflow and mapping metadata stored in the repository.

Integration services will start the DTM process to run the session and comman task within the workflow.

DTM Process will perform following tasks,

--Session validations

--Handles pre and post session operations

--Creates threads to initilize sessions

--Creates threads to read data

--Creates threads to write data

--Creates threads to transform data

--Creates the session log

We can increase the buffer size for session within the DTM Process.   Default buffer size will be Auto.
