As integral part of clutch it is connected with flywheel when the wheel is to be rotated. It is connected by the force which is exerted by pressure plate. It rotates because of high friction between cluth plate and flywheel. When power is not to be transmitted though vehicle is in gear pressure exerted by pressure plate is removed and plate moves far due to centrifugal action and power is not transmitted.
