Informatica partitions are used to improve the performance of power center through parallel data processing.
The different types of informatica partitions are database partition, pass-through partition, key range, hash auto keys, hash user keys partitions.

pass-through - The integration service process the data without redistributing rows among partitions.

hash user key - the integration service uses hash fn to group rows of data among partitions. We define no. of ports to generate partition keys.

we cannot create a partition key for hash auto key, round robin or pass-through partitioning.
