Servlet provides below security options to web applications

1. Providing Authentication - username/password
2. Providing Authorization - whether user has right access to requested resource. Like doctor can edit the patient details and nurse can only view the patient details
3. Providing Data integrity - ensuring that data is not tampered while transit from sender to receiver
4. Confidentiality - making sure unintended parties cant make use of data
5. Auditing - maintaining logs
6. Preventing website attacks
