Earthing strip is generally avl with aluminium or copper like 25*6mm or we can use 8/6 swg g.i wire as appropriate. But main logic is that we have to keep earth resistance within the limit,1ohm.that means we have to check the earth resistance value at the pit and choose the size of earth wire. Suppose your earth value is 0.8ohm, then we have to select the earth conductor whose resistance is under 0.5 ohm.that may be larger cross section or thickness of strip.
