You can find null values (basically column value) as -

SELECT col_nm
FROM   table_nm
WHERE col_nm IS NULL;

NULL values are not using any assignment operator, So you need to compare them IS NULL e.g.

Select * from emp where comm is NULL;

In pl/sql:
"is null" and "is not null" are the best way to find null and not null values resp.

In t-sql
if ansi_nulls is off then(set ansi_nulls off)
"=" will work to search the null values
