What is the advantage of ALV Grid over ALV List ?

In ALV grid you can always have editable grid but in list display it not possible.
List display is used only for displaying data which already exists in the system using ABAP processing as per the requirement but in AlV GRID since you can have editable fields , updations of database is possible.

There are 6 types of reports
1. Classic Reports
2. Interactive Reports
3. ALV Reports
4. ABAP Query Reports
5. Logical Database Reports
6. Report Writer / Painter

ALV list just displays the output in list format which is not editable whereas the cells in the grid display are editable as Mayank said above, but we cannot update database using the editable values. We can just use the edited contents to print the list.
