In Cognos u will have impromptu (reporting tool) in this all the report will be stored as report.IMR   which is  one dimensional (single view ) report .but when we want to build cubes  IMR  file type  will not be accepted by  powerplay so we need to convert the IMR File to IQD file (impromptu query definition)
