Open Source OS by itself is self-explanatory.

Definition:
Open Source OS is any OS which has the source code with its installation package. This source code is modifiable. If you want your OS to work for you as you want it to, you put your creativity and start redesigning. Get it completed as a new OS and sell it if you are business-minded.

Examples:
                    Linux versions

UNIX source code is made free and is available for students
