How can I create a TODAY variable in WEBi or full client?

In Excel I simply use the TODAY() command. Is there a BO equivalent that I don't know about?

There is a function for this. The best way to do this from the WebI is:

on Edit Report tab, on your variables panel, click on "template" > "free standing cells" > under "Formula and Text Cells" click and drag "Blank Cell" to the report panel.

Double-click on the blank cell and paste the function:     =CurrentDate()
