Is it possible to use the Winrunner in IBM Mainframes ?

Hi,

It is possible to automate mainframes, though not advisable, using WinRunner.
WinRunner is designed a GUI interfacing tool and hence you will require some Terminal Software interface that interacts with WinRunner. (e.g: TSO). Here you might be pushed towards using more analog recording/playback options rather than context sensitive capturing. A lot of text appearing on the TSO screens then need to be read and parsed probably.

A better option might be to utilize QTP as it is better at handling application / screens which it does not recognize as "Windows" and there is a better chance of leveraging automation using descriptive programming concepts to get better control of screen objects.
