The answer will be c) 8

The reason is, 1st divide the path in 15 equal part of 1 mile each, as the camel cant load more than 15 so it load 15 and moves forward after completion of 1st mile it unloads 13 bananas of remaining 14 and eat 1 to come back to original position, similarly it consumes 2 more bananas in 2nd trip and in 3rd trip it consumes only 1 coz he dont need to go back, so after 1 mile the remaining bananas left are 40. Similarly after next mile it remain 35 den 30 now only 2 trip required so now only 3 bananas are consumed for 2 trips and so continue this way you will get 8 as ans.

6 Bananas can be transported to the city.

The camel carries 15 bananas for a kilometer and comes back (15 bananas becomes 13).  It carries the second set of 15 bananas for a kilometer and comes back (15 bananas becomes 13).  It carries the third set of 15 bananas for a kilometer (15 bananas becomes 14).  Now we have 40 bananas which has to be carried for 14 kilometers.

At the end of the second kilometer the total number of bananas becomes 35.
At the end of the third kilometer the total number of bananas becomes 30.
At the end of the fourth kilometer the total number of bananas becomes 25.
At the end of the fifth kilometer the total number of bananas becomes 20.
At the end of the Sixth kilometer the total number of bananas becomes 15.

The camel carries the remaining 15 bananas for the last 9 more kilometers; and by the time it reaches its destination, it has consumed 9 bananas -- The remaining is 6 Bananas

There will be four steps, 1st two of 3 miles each, next will be of 2 miles, then final step will be of 7 miles.

STEP1: Camel will first eat 1 banana for next 1 mile ,then it will take 15 of them (29 are still left). Camel will finish 2 more for forward 3 miles, then she will leave 10 of them and she will keep 3 for return journey. it will repeat the step one more time. Now she is with 13 bananas she will simply go to the first 3 miles eating three of them.

STEP2: Now she is with 30 bananas .she will repeat same steps for next three miles. After these 6 miles she is left with 21 bananas.

STEP3: Now it will do the same thing for next 2 miles .

STEP4: Now she is at 8th mile with 15 bananas she will take all of them for next 7 miles. finally she is with 8 bananas at the city.
