Career change for SQL Experience to Data Warehousing

A friend of mine (30 yrs. of age) wants to know if he can enter data warehousing domain as a domain fresher, he has a strong SQL/DB background and strong experience in data mining as well. he did a course in ETL/OLAP tools and seems to have prepared himself well technically.

Hello, You told that you have experience in SQl, for doing DWH it will be more helpfull for you. While coming to DWH you will be be-confident in any of the ETL Tools and one Reporting Tool, Normally in DWH Interviews the questions will be asked 30 Percent in RDBMS concepts and remainig 70% will be asked in DWH tools. No. what he said was, although he is experienced at SQL and data mining work, since he has not been into DWH domain, many companies do not consider him for the ETL/OLAP job (although he has done a course and pilot project). I mean i want to know if no one can enter DWH domain if he's not experienced in DWH?. Thank you.
