What is disposition (MOD,DELETE,DELETE)means? What's the use of this disposition?

(M,D,D) is used to delete a dataset when the dataset may or may not be cataloged and/or present. It's nearly exclusively used with IEFBR14 for this reason. (Or IEFBR15 if you are in GUI mode.)

disposition (MOD,DELETE,DELETE)

The 1st argument MOD :

The initial disposition of the file
Append data to the file. Implies exclusive use.


The 2nd argument DELETE :

This is the disposition on normal completion of the job step
May uncatalogue as well as delete if UNIT & VOL not present.

The 3rd argument DELETE :

This the disposition on Abnormal termination of the job step
May uncatalogue as well as delete if UNIT & VOL not present.
