I believe the following steps would cause anyone to improve creativity:

1) Find something you can become passionate about
2) Find a need in this area that you believe must be filled
3) Be confident that you are the person to fill it
4) Establish a vision of what you want to achieve; see it happen
5) Learn everything you can about that thing
6) Establish a plan and goals to actualize your vision
7) Immerse yourself in activities that will help you achieve your goals  
8) Trust your knowledge and intuition in an effort to drive positive results
9) Be persistent in the face of failure
