I worked with MNC where i was having standalone, see in Standalone while working on the side of admin you needed to pay attention on data modelling.If you are starting from scrach then give more look on the key realtionships which you need to distribute amongst fact and dimensions equally.Obviously we do error when we enlarge the data or take enlarged data for working on it.Don't delete anything which could have impact direct on related dimension. 
  Second thing always whenever problem occurs go to cache folder check the updated running details.
