Is scripting knowledge needed for QTP Job ?

Hi,I would like to know if I should have knowledge in Vb scripting to look for a job based on QTP?I just know how to use the tool just by recording.I have no idea in scripting.Give me a suggestion.

QTP in action pane has two view
1. keyword view
2. expert view
In expert view we see the VB scripting view, but were as keyword view enables you to create and view the steps of your test or component in a keyword driven, modular, table format.
we can select the items and operations in the keybord view and entering the information as required.
