Functional point analysys is a concept of finding out estimates in terms of points. It is one of the best practise of finding out estimates irespective of any technology dependancy.
FPA is divided into 4 attributes. All these 4 Attributes are nothing but functional key ares of transcation.
For Example:
1. Input
2. OutPut
3. Input External Data
4. Output Internal Data

*Query data is not considered as FPA points.

Funcitonal points can be derived using tht Five Components of Function Points

Data Functions

  • Internal Logical Files
  • External Interface Files
Transactional Functions
  • External Inputs
  • External Outputs
  • External Inquiries

Now we will get Unadjusted Function Point count.

To get the adjusted Function Point count we need to appy 14 Value Adjustment Factors.
