Dear All, Iam a Btech(mech) and MBA(Mktg) graduate working in Indian IT MNC as a mktg executive.Well i would like to shift my focus from mktg to Data warehosuing, with stress on BI.I would like to work as consultant on reporting tools such as BO and COGNOS.Curently iam learining SQL and PLSQL .My doubt is,my carrer path which iam trying to pursue is a correct one, if yes then what skils i have to acquire to fulfill my dream.

Your focus on learning of SQL and PLSQL is fine. BUt kindly let me know how you have equipped yourself for the Data warehosuing field till now. Only if you let me know your current strengths in this field I can guide you how you can proceed further to achieve your dream.

Dear James,thanx for your kind reply.My interest in analyzing the info has drawn me towards BI and DW in specific.On research , i could download info interms of PPT and pdf giving details of DW concepts and the procedure of DSS.My current strengths in DW or BI are only in theory,not in practical aspects.Moreover iam trying to persuade soem training in BO with little knowledge of DW.
