How Oracle type-4 driver is working ? My question is there is no middlewere between java code and database. Is java code is understandable by database ?

Type 4 drivers are generally provided by the DBMS vendors themselves, these drivers directly convert the JDBC calls into network protocol of the underlying database which gives direct connectivity resulting in faster access
