The inspection team is a group of individuals that work together to analyze each work product of a development activity in order to detect and remove defects. Inspections accomplish this by assigning five different procedural roles to the individuals that make up the team. The five procedural roles are: Author, Moderator, Reader, Recorder, and Inspector.

        Author

The individual that assumes the role of Author will be ultimately responsible for updating the work product after the inspection. This is usually the person who originally constructed the work product. Additionally, this person will address specific questions that arise concerning the content of the work product and will use their special knowledge to help identify and detect defects in the work product.

Moderator

The Moderator is responsible for ensuring that the inspection procedures are performed through out the entire inspection process. This includes ensuring that the other inspection team members perform their roles to the best of their ability. Important issues that the Moderator is responsible for include:

• Verifying the work products readiness for inspection
• Verifying that the entry criteria is met
• Assembling an effective inspection team
• Keeping the inspection meeting on track
• Verifying that the exit criteria is met

Reader

The reader is responsible for leading the Inspection Team through the inspection meeting by reading aloud small logical units, paraphrasing where appropriate.

Recorder

The Recorder will document all defects that arise from the inspection meeting. This documentation will include where the defect was found. Additionally, every defect is assigned a defect category and type. All the defect data is recorded on a Software Inspection Defect List.

Inspector

All of the Inspection Team individuals are also considered to play the Inspector role, independent of other roles assigned. The Inspector role is responsible for analyzing and detecting defects within the work product.

Inspection is the process which cums under verification.
Inspection is a Formal Meeting.It contain 6-10 peoples including sen. manger ,Team Lead,test lead,developer,tester....The author is the presenteter,every one who is attending the meeting should prepaire before cuming.
 The input of inspection is prepaire document,coad etc and output of this meeting should cums in documention form which include the list of changes to be done.
