Answer:b:3 P.M.

Assumptions:

Distance between two points where Bus meets auto=x

Distance between the point where bus meets auto for the second time and Amritsar=y

velocity of bus=Vb

velocity of auto=va

vb=x/2

va=x/4

y=0.5*vb=05*x/2

time taken by auto for covering the distance y=y/va=1 Hour

hence time at which auto reaches Amritsar=2 P.M.+1 hour=3 P.M.

Answer: b: 3 P.M.

Let distance between two points where they met=x

Distance between Amritsar and the point where bus and auto met second time=y

Velocity of bus=Vb

Velocity of Auto=Va

Vb=x/2

Va=x/4

Y=0.5*Vb=0.5*x/2

Time for the auto to cover y=y/Va=1

Hence time at which auto reaches Amritsar=2 P.M.+ 1 hour=3P.M.

Solution:(I am not an expert)

let's split up time in unit's of 0.5 hrs (ie) 1/2 hours

bus & auto met at a point A

we i''ll take distance traveled in 1 unit of time as X

time taken to reach amirstar= 2.5 hrs (ie 5 units)

from this, we get distance between A & amiristar is 5X

Time bus rested= 1 hr(2 unit=2X)

Time bus Started back =1:30

time taken to meet the auto at point B= 2:00 - 1:30 = 0.5 hr(1 unit= 1X)

time taken by auto to reach point y = 5X - X (4X)

now by equating time taken by auto & bus we get the ratio 4:5+2+1 (4:8)

(ie) (1:2) so the auto will travel X diatance in 1 hour.

it will reach amristar by 3pm

(ie) 2:00 + 1:00

Its simple, It takes one hour to reach and hence 2 + 1 is 3. Its meets the auto by 2 so it takes one more hour to reach hence 3 is the answer.
