The choosing of your career depends on your interest on technology. If you like web related applications,web designing and so on you could choose java, j2ee. If you like to have database development,database designing and so on you could choose Oracle as your career. But in general my guidance for you is learn both technologies and have a blend on both which would make you have a good future.
