The Requirement traceability Matrix is prepared by the

It is prepared by the Project Manager however subsequently Updatations/changes are done by the particular Module Leader who is working on that particular requirement.

The Traceability Matrix has the following columns

1. Requirement No.

2. Brief Description of the Requirement

3. SRS Reference for particular requirement

4. SDD Reference for particular requirement

5. STP/STD Reference for particular requirement

6. Test Case REference for particular requirement

So basicically it talks about for a particular requirement which all document is affected & at what place.

1) The person responsible for preparing the Requirements Traceability Matrix and mapping requirements to test cases vary between company and project.  In my company, the tester performs this task.

2) The columns in a Traceability Matrix are:

a) Requirement number
b) Description of requirement
c) BRD/FRD/SRS reference
d) SDD reference
e) Test case reference
