Hi,

1> Native connection is something which is provided by the same vendor for that tool. eg: oracle warehouse builder has its own driver to connect to oracle DB which does not use a ODBC driver. here connection will be fast and hence performance.

ODBC is basically a third party driver like Microsoft driver for Oracle, which can be used by any tool to connect to oracle.

2> Registering a server to a repository is necessary because the sessions will be using this server to run. If we have multiple servers, then we can use diff server to diff sessions to run.
