In winrunner the function generator is repository of different types functions like analog functions, context sensitive functions, standard functions, Customization functions which will be useful in scripting. Through function generator we can pass parameters to the required function by mentioning the parameters at required field With the help of Arguments button in the Function Generator Window( which takes place in Create menu --->Insert function ---> From function genrator(This is in Winrunner 7.0 version, may be the menu options are change in new versions)). After that we can paste it in the script through paste button in Function generator.

We can add our compiled modules or user defined functions to Function generator with the help of function "Generator_add_function". We can add the same function to required category also by using other functions in the function generator.
