User Acceptance testing : Testing done by the business user to validate that the application meets all the requirements.

User acceptance testing is of two types: Alpha testing and Beta testing.

Alpha testing - Business user is invited to the Development center where they test the functionality

Beta testing - application is given to the users as a beta version, and the users test the application at their own environment

Alpha Testing:It is one phase of acceptance testing,it is done with a presence of client in Development environment,in this phase modifications are still possible and it not a final version of s/w.

Beta Testing:It is another phase of acceptance testing it is not done in development environment but its done in clients environment. In this phase bug found is called the defect in s/w.

Both alpha and beta are part of Aceptance testing.

Acceptance testing:Its check the system against the requirements. Its similar to system testing but the focus changes. In system testing the software is tested against the specification but in acceptance testing the s/w tested against the requirements.

And again the focus on requirements and specifications is different.

If any clarifications plz free feel to ask

First the Alphatesting is carried out, client side authority (who is supposed to use it) & the Team member are involved.

Then the Acceptace testing is carried out, where only client authority is included & they test in there environment only.

In beta testing the product is released to some special consumer to get there feed back, & found that is there any real world problem?

After successful betatesting Product is relased to real world!!
