It can lead to serious dead locks, process preemptions frequently with the loss of memory

It allows you to use your computer without any knowledge of coding. Without an operating system, your hardware would not work at all, until you wrote your own code for the hardware to do what you want. Operating system is a software that is responsible for managment of the system resources. OS is intermediate between the user and the machine. Without any OS we can't use and hardware. Easy and complete memory use Direct hardware access.

 Not easy to interact with the system.
 Resource allocation is difficult.
No back up is available
