HI,

  Ther are various types of documents that you will come across in any software development. If u are familiar with SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) then u must have already heard about many of them.

    Coming to your question, AIM - Application Implementation Method talks about how to implement certain project.

  You will also be using other documents like

      RD - Requirement documents -- wher u record what ur customer needs

      BR  - Business Requirement Documents - In which u mention Various steps u follow in implementation

Documentation can be done based on the org. requirements, for apps we are mainly using BR100 and MD50, configuration settings we have to do in this documents, BR100 is the functional document, MD50 is technical document, and methodolgy we are using only one methodology, that is AIM, it consist of 6 satges, as per the org, they can use their way of these 6 steps, they are Definition, Operational Analysis, Solution Design, Build, Transistion, Production
