Answer is 1.5 ft

Let us assume one tree grows xft in 4 yrs, 2nd tree grows 3/5(x)ft...
Total x+3/5(x)=8
x=5 ft..
hence 1st tree 5ft 2nd tree 3 ft for 4 yrs
2nd tree for 2 yrs is 3/2=1.5 ft

4x+3/5(4x)=8;

4x+12x/5=8;

32x=40;

x=1.25

then,3/5(4(1.25))=3(for 4 years)

for 1 year=3/4==>0.75

for 2 year==>2(0.75)==>1.5 feet

ans:1.5 f
