Winrunner is an automation tool, where we can do everything by automation ie; we first record then we run it. But test director is a test management tool where we can find every thing? in one place ie; (test case, writting testcase....etc).

You also need to install the QC add-in for QTP. Go to the QC add-in page (the More HP QC Add-ins page), and select and install the QTP add-in. If you do not do this, you can not connect QC and QTP.Then follow the instructions in the first answer to connect.

You can track the requirements with testcases and also u can track test cases with defects. So Requirements having any open defects or not alo u can track.
