Only the difference between .Net application and Java Appliaction is Controls/Objects(Textboxes, comboboxes etc...).by default QTP cannot recogize .Net or Java objects directly. So to access those objects, user should install .Net addins or Java Addins related to QTP.

For .NET application,we have to use .Net add-in.Some applications built using .Net may not recognised fully by QTP. At that point of time,u have to install Test advantage(a third party add-in )along with .Net Add-in developed by Infragistics.

You can use size property. Remember the object has to be a File or Folder type object. the return value will be the size in bytes.

You can put a checkpoint on the size in terms of the number of bytes that are transferred to the user. If the size exceeds the normal level you can consider that as a excess data else it is within the stipulated data.
