Some times during playback of the recorded script, QTP fails to identify some objects as they doesnt belong to standard object class.By using virtual object wizard we can map this objects to a standard class object so that it will be identified by the tool next time.

Use Systemutil.run method to open any application.Generally we use this method when we need to open different applications in the same test.You cal also use systemutil.closedescendentprocesses to close all the applications opened by QTP.
