Ours is an Engineering Industry. We are having some machinery. For every machine there is one target for every 8 hours. If i wanted to enter the machine target in SAP, where i wanted to enter the same and how i can find the capacity for 24 hours for so many number of machines. please clarify?

A SAP system can contain one and only one Central Instance.  In the Central Instance you will have Message Server and Enque Workprocessor. The Message Server should be only one per a  single SAP system.

The Host name is the name of the Computer where the instances (Database/SAP) is installed.The SID referes to all the instances in a SAP system or a Database.
