Main attributes of CI:
Ci name
Keys : Get Key, Find Key, Create Key
Methods : Get , Find, Create,Save & Cancel
Properties & Collection :
Properies are the record fields which are on zero level
Collection are scroll data

GetExisting option is equivalent to opening a record in Update/Display Mode only

Clicking Get Existing is equivalent to opening a record in Update/Display or Correction mode online. It retrieves one instance from the database. After you click the Get Existing button, the Component Interface Tester dialog box appears.

If no validation is required, Data Mover tool (DMS script) can be used.

If validation is required, then CI could be used. However, the CI validation takes longer time and not recommended for updating huge data.

IB could be used for mass update with a certain level of validation.
