Managed Node: It have a node agent,it can managed Dmgr and federated profile.
Unmanaged Node : It dont have node agent, why because it does not managed Dmgr and profiles.

We can create profile by command mode Execute ./manageprofile.sh as well as GUI mode.
To check how many profiles are available we can use command manageprofile.bat -ListProfile

The serverindex.xml file is the node level file.. go to that particular profile bin--> config--> cells--> cellname--> nodes--> u wil find the serverindex.xml file there
